Sports in Scoil Fionntáin Naofa

Scoil Fionntáin Naofa provides for a wide variety of sporting activities for our pupils. Sports on offer in the school include

Gaelic Football-annual participation in Cumann na mBunscol football leagues;
Hurling-annual participation in Cumann na mBunscol hurling leagues;
Tag Rugby with Leinster Rugby in conjunction with Portlaoise Rugby Club on an annual basis:
5-a-side Soccer in conjunction with the FAI on an annual basis;
Swimming lessons in Portlaoise Leisure Centre on an annual basis;
Athletics including Cross County on an annual basis;
Outdoor and Adventure Activities on an annual basis;
Gymnastics lessons with Laois Sports Partnership on a biennial basis;
Irish Dancing Lessons with the Aisling Walsh School of Dance on a biennial basis;

We have forged very close and positive links with our local sporting community to include Colt Shanahoe GAA Club and Shanahoe Ladies GAA Club.

Our victorious Girls Football Team who defeated Maryborough NS in the Cumann na mBunscol Roinn 4 Football Final in O' Moore Park.

Members of our victorious hurling team who secured a great win over Mayo NS in the Roinn 5 Shield hurling final in O'Moore Park.
