Healthy Eating in Scoil Fionntáin Naofa
What people eat is known to be a key factor in influencing health and general wellbeing for the life course. We aim to promote the personal development, health and wellbeing of every pupil in the school and promoting and encouraging healthy eating is an integral part of this.
In Scoil Fionntáin Naofa, Shanahoe we encourage and promote Healthy Eating across the school. Our Healthy Eating Policy was developed in the school year 2023-2024 in consultation and collaboration with staff, parents, pupils and the Board of Management of the school. Our Healthy Eating Policy can be viewed and downloaded below and we respectfully ask that all parents adhere to it and support its implementation in the interests of promoting the health and wellbeing of all of our pupils.

A very simple approach to adopting healthy eating practices is to refer to & use the Food Pyramid as outlined below.
All pupils in the school participate in the 'Food Dudes' programme on a annual basis. 'Food Dudes' is designed to positively change children’s attitudes towards eating fresh fruit and vegetables, by combining three key elements: Repeated tasting, Rewards and Role modelling.
