The Board of Management of Scoil Fionntáin Naofa, Shanahoe manages the school on behalf of the Patron, Bishop Denis Nulty of the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin . The Board of Management ensures that an appropriate education is provided for all pupils in the school. The Board of Management upholds the Roman Catholic ethos and characteristic spirit of the school and is accountable to the Patron for doing so. The Principal Teacher is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school on behalf of the Board of Management.
The Board of Management of Scoil Fionntáin Naofa, Shanahoe adheres in full to the provisions of the ‘Governance Manual for Primary Schools 2023-2027' published by the Department of Education. A copy of the 'Governance Manual 2023-2027' can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.
Boards of Management are appointed for a four year term. Our present Board of Management is in office from 1st December 2023 to 30th November 2027.
Our current Board of Management (2023-2027) is comprised of the following eight members:
- Mr. Micheál Delaney- Chairperson (Patron’s Nominee);
- Dr. Sharon Drennan (Patron's Nominee);
- Mr. Barry Whelan (Secretary to the Board of Management/Principal Teacher);
- Mr. Jonathan (Johnny) Watson (Teacher Nominee);
- Mr. James Kirwan (Parents' Nominee
- Ms. Mary Dunphy (Community Nominee);
- Ms. Sarah-Louise Malone (Community Nominee)
Following each Board of Management meeting of the school, an 'Agreed Report' is prepared by the board and this is then circulated to the school community to include parents, staff members etc. Copies of these 'Agreed Reports' can be accessed at the tab below.
