Physical EducationScoil Fionntáin Naofa delivers a very broad and balanced PE Curriculum with every class having their one hour timetabled PE lesson per week. All six strands of the P.E curriculum are covered namely Athletics, Aquatics, Dance, Gymnastics, Games & Outdoor and Adventure Activities. Teachers make full use of the PSSI lesson plans to guide their delivery of P.E lessons and to ensure best practice in the teaching of P.E. We have visiting coaches during the year to assist in the teaching of dancing, tag rugby, gymnastics and hurling. Pupils from 1st to 6th class have a six week block of swimming lessons each April/May in Portlaoise Leisure Centre.
Our Active Slogans: 'We are Active, We are Cool, We are Shanahoe National School' and 'Being Active is Impactive'. Well done to pupils from both the Middle and Senior room for their excellent artwork and ideas.
